The developing plan of the Department of Information Technology is divided into two parts: Software Engineering and Intelligent System. The emphasis is not only on research but also on its applicability in the information industry.

Students in the Department of Information Technology are trained with the skills needed to meet the requirements of the information industry, and therefore they will be asked to work with some of the information companies in Neihu Science and Technology Park in Taipei.

There are one visiting professor, four associate professors, and five assistant professors in the Department of Information Technology. All of them major in computer engineering, computer science or related areas.

There are two general-purpose computer rooms in our department. Each computer room contains 60 PCs and provides some special software such as embedded system developing kit for developing the embedded system kernel and the IBM rational XDE CASE tool for software engineering.

There are also two labs in the Department of Information Technology. One of them is for embedded system application and the other is for Software Engineering.

Further study: Students can apply to or take the entrance examination of the information-related graduate schools such as computer science and computer engineering graduate schools.

Career Plan: The school is located near the Neihu Technology Park and Nan-Kung Industrial Park, where our graduates have many employment opportunities.

The course planning of the Department of Information Technology focuses on software development, intelligent embedded system design and network application system development. The courses include computer network, database system, network programming, artificial intelligence, programming design, software engineering, operating system concept and design, web site construction, mobile communication, and game programming design.
